Becoming an Air Traffic Controller
If you're looking to become an Air Traffic Controller with the virtual Havana FIR, then you have landed at the right place. This is a very straightforward process. How far you can get and how quickly will depend on the effort and interest you put in. Follow the links below to learn more.

What's next

If your application is accepted a user account will be created and you will receive your credentials via email. This will grant you access to a private Controllers Area, where you will find documents and information regarding the operation of the FIR and also instructions on what to do next. The login zone is located around the top left corner of the page.
If your application is rejected you should receive an email explaining the reasons.

While you wait
There are certainly a few things you can do while you wait to begin your training or certification. The sooner you become familiar with the tools and resources available, the faster you will get going towards jumping into the scopes. Find below some recommendations to start with.
VATCAR Training site
If you don't have one yet, create a user account at the online VATCAR Training site. You will need it to get access to the different courses and quizzes.
Controller Client software
Have never used a Controller Client software before? It’s time to pick one and start getting familiar with it. If you do, you can always learn more and try to master it.
The list of VATSIM approved Controller Client software can be consulted here.
Observe, observe and observe
Connecting as an Observer (OBS) is a powerful resource available to all VATSIM members (no ATC rating required). Since you can monitor air traffic and ATC operations live, it’s a great way to learn and improve your skills with the Controller Client software.
